Do flywheels have diff diameters???

I am using my tranny 5-speed from my 93' talon, and putting it on my new 91' 6-bolt block, but I cannot get the tranny on, it seems as though the 6-bolt flywheel has a bigger diameter? IF I buy a new flywheel, will it be smaller, or do I need a new tranny???

ok, nevermind, i see you have an ES. well then i will tell you everything i know on the subject and let you sift through it.

the FWD turbo flywheel is bigger than the AWD one. the AWD tranny will not fit over a FWD flywheel. i know, i tried.

so i take it that the engine is off a FWD turbo, and the tranny is FWD non turbo?

im pretty sure 6 and 7 bolt flywheels are the same size, but differ between the models.

also, the motor mounts may be screwy, but you doing an NT to turbo engine swap, im sure you've prepared for the whole different motor mount scenario.

the car is FWD, the block is either fwd or from awd, but i think it was from a FWD, since the flywheel is bigger. The tranny is from when my car was a Non-turbo. The car is being converted to a turbo now. Engine/tranny/everything else is all out of the car, so anything that needs to be done, I need to know now, since the car is about to just be junked cuz its causing a annerism in my head!

Can you put a AWD 6-bolt flywheel into a 6-bolt FWD?? I have a buddy that has a FWD Turbo LAser and I have a used Clutch from a 6-bolt AWD. He is cheap and I was wondering if it would fit correctly??

No, the teeth on the flywheel wouldnt meet the starter. If you like to push start it every time, you can try it, i dont know if there are any other barriers.
