just wondering if anyone has used their clutches or knows anything about em. I just went from having a near 400hp gst to a bone stock 91 tsi awd. Well the car has its issues that im working out right now before i even think about throwin mods on it. But of course, the clutch is slipping horribly, im looking for a new clutch. I really like that new one from AMS, but i was on horsepowerfreaks and saw that they had a few SBC clutches for sale. I'm interested in the one they have for like 270 bux or sumthin, the TX model. I only plan on makin like 16g range power on this car. High 12's mainly. And i do not beat on the car on the street, sure i get in lil quick races here and there, but not tons of launches or full blown street races. So im looking for a clutch that is pretty drivable, but will support high 12's. I hardly go to a track cuz there isn't one anywhere near here. i do not want an ACT. but if anyone has any info on the SBC clutches, id appreciate any info u could share. thanx

Almost everyone around here uses them, including their 10 second street supra. They are great clutches, and have a pedal pressure that is identical to stock. I love my clutch grabs hard and i give minimal effort to the pedal. My buddies 11sec awd talon, 12sec big 16g gst, and cousins sr20det 240 all run dxd clutch and they all love and have no problems. the SBC clutches have been tried...by several people, and everyone that uses them loves them. a crap-load of 3/S guys use them and have had no problems. I will be putting one in my car as well.

ok now i know everyone seems to have tried the DXD ones which are the highest performance ones. But does anyone have any experience with the TX ones? It sounds like they are for like more mildly modded cars. I don't plan on making a lot of power anyday soon. i kinda jumped on performance crap when i had my 2g, just started modding the crap outta it, but this time i kinda wanna do things differently. Not just jump on performance parts, but take care of the little things first, like new paint, all my fliuds, reupholster the crappy seats, just all the little things that i said SCREW IT on my 2g. So I'm really not going to be making like 300 hp for prolly almost a year or so. So i'm wondering if this TX clutch will be good for me since i will be making it quicker, but ill prolly not surpass 300hp for quite some time. thanx for the feedback though

me612 - My friend here in Memphis has a 3000gt vr4 that is nearly stock so he may be pushing around 350hp with the few things he has done to it. after doing a lot of reading on the 3si.org (3kgt/stealth site), i mentioned the SBC clutches to him as he had never heard of them either. he read some of the reviews and decided to try it out and he got the TZ series which is the one you are asking about. he is very pleased with the pedal feel and said the it grabs very well. he has not had any complaints with his so far. hope this helps.

They hit 9's :D

quick question about all these performance clutches, but the sbc ones in general ($)... How long do they last in general... I know if you're launching everyday they won't last, but normal driving, maybe a launch or two per month, how long will it last compared to stock? THanks.
