YES I have searched this and several sites for this info but cant find it.

How do I know if I have LSD, I am trying to find a RR axle 3 bolt and all the salvage yards keep asking me if its LSD, they sau the axels are different.

BTW my car is a 90 Talon TSi AWD.

Thanks in advnaced

Does your car have ABS? I could be wrong but I think on 1g's you either had LSD or ABS. LSD equipped cars have a sticker on the driver side door jam that says so.

LSD means if your car is equiped with acid j/k. It's a limited slip differential.

Open your door. If there is a big orange sticker in the door jam just above where the vehicle info is (manufacture date, tire pressure, etc.) that says something to the effect of "This car is equiped with a limited slip differential don't attempt to rotate any tires while the vehicle is in the air" or something similar then you have a lsd.

Or you could do the alternative get going about 50 mph or so and slam the brakes if they lock then you have abs therefore no lsd.

My car has the sticker, but the salvage yard says thats for the Transfer case not the rear diff??? I think they are confused.

I do not have ABS BTW.

THanks for the replys

I have a 93 GSX with ABS and a factory LSD. You'll just have to look at the diff. or inside the door jamb.

FYI the manual says the way to check the Viscous Coupling in an LSD rear end is to jack it up - disconnect the drive shaft - & then spin one axle/tire - the other tire should turn the same direction - if it spins the opposite direction - it says to replace the Viscous Coupling in the rear end. Backlash spec turning driveshaft yoke counterclockwise is 2/10 of an inch. Might want to check that right there in the junkyard. I'm sure you know they have a magnetic drain plug - I'd pull that too & see what it looks like - 15/16 socket I think... Good Luck.

Like stated earlier, just jack up the car and look at the back of the pumpkin. There should be a sticker that says "LSD" right on it. That's the most direct way to check it.
