I'm thinking of installing an ACT 2600 at the shop at my school, but it would be my first time changing a clutch. I've helped my uncle rebuild an auto trans before, but I've never dealt with a clutch install by itself. My teacher is not familiar with Dsm's at all, so would it be a better idea to pay the $350 for a shop to do it?

If neither of you are comfortable doing it, then you might as well pay someone else to make sure it is done correctly. In all honesty though, a clutch install on a DSM isn't mechanically challenging, it just takes plenty of time.
