Question automatic tranny mods

I really dont know too much about transmissions, but i just got overdrive clutch assembly replaced on my car for $$$$, i really dont wanna have to deal with the tranny again, so i was wondering what mods can i do to my automatic to improve its life, and improve the shifting on the car?
Thanks in advance

Somebody here on DSMTuners posted this link recently
http://www.plymouthlaser.com

And the guy that did the site.. INCREDIBLE. He put pics of what he did as he did them. (with a disclaimer of course and word of warning in case he forgot to take a photo/describe a step) but it's really an interesting site. Kind of like watching a PBS (or in your case CBC) / discovery / ESPN motor channel thing.

Not sure if it's exactly what your looking for and the work looks pretty extensive. But there was this one part where he replaced this circular looking thing with a stronger/maybe a little thicker thing after 66k miles.

Hope it helps. : )

Also check out Level 10 tranny. I know they do eclipse trannies and they can bulletproof them.

Thanks for the kind words about my site! The disclaimers are there so people remember to check the vfaq site, ask in a forum, get other opinions and so on...before working.

The end clutch is a good upgrade and the shift kit is better (preventative and performance). I believe most people can do it if they take their time and are Careful..

I am considering a core exchange program where I install the kit (I have both gen of valve bodies) and once satisfied, they return their old valve body. It still involves pulling it from the car and reinstalling it, but you bypass the drilling of the valve body and so on. Due to work and being behind, not anytime soon.

I have been rough on my auto up to 74K (I mean Rough) and it seems to be holding up well. Stock Torque Converter as well. Still shifts and I drive it 60 miles a day.

I will rebuilding a spare with Alto Red Eagle HP discs throughout. It should be ready for more HP and run harder. Watch the site and we will see.
