(crossposted, mods, feel free tor smite me or move my post as nessicary)
Heyo, the guys over at dsmtalk.com didn't seem to be able to help me, nor did anyone who lives around me or anyone i know... Here's my problem, in november of last year, the clutch in my car (92 eclipse 1.8) went out.. no big deal, i figured it was a simple two hour job... (who hasn't changed a clutch or 10?). Well, 9 months later, this thing has not run dependably... the longest i had it running was two weeks...
Here's what it does. When I try to shift, it won't let me into gear, grinding if i try first or reverse.. If i start the car in gear, i tries to move the car in the respective direction, but won't let me shift out of gear.
What i've done: I've had the tranny out at least 5 times, i've changed every moving component of the clutch system (see below), and I've bled through at least two quarts (###### more) of break fluid.
What i changed/Fixed: Flywheel, Clutch Disc, Pressure Plate, Throwout Bearing, Fork, Pivot that the fork sits on, Slave Cylinder, Master Cylinder, and i've had the pedals welded in place (on the shaft), to make sure there was no play in the system.
I've done everything short of throwing 500 dollars at a mechanic and saying "Fix this POS before i take a sledgehammer to it!". and that's only because i don't have 500 dollars to do that with.. I was wondering if anyone had ANY good ideas or feedback about this?
Sorry about the length of my post, i just wanted to make sure that i covered all my bases, feel free to ask any questions about procedure or anything like that.
Thanks for any comments, suggestions in advance!
~Aaron
