could having too much ATF do anything to my tranny (shift bad etc).... and also what type of fluid should i use? im using some dextron something or other.... is there a certain type i should use? thanks in advance....

b&m makes a synthetic tranny fluid which will stand up to brake torquing and higher temps much better then standard fluid

running too much fluid could ruin the tranny

The wrong type of fluid and the wrong level will definitely cause poor shifting, lack of shifting, or permanent damage to automatic transmission clutches and seals.

I'm not exactly sure what type of fluid the mitsu (4g63) auto trans uses but you should refer to either the dipstick markings on some cars, the owners manual, or the dealership.

I would not drive the car until you verify the fluid type and level are correct.
