90 Talon TSI,

Put a new transmition in it, (old one was locked up). Bolts up just fine, but the TOB cannot press the pressure plate far enough before the fork presses against the fork window. We have taken every measurment possible, everything is the same! The Fork pivot point is cast to the housing so we cant shim it.

It didn't work w/ the same exact clutch....the clutch wasn't even touched.

We decided to put in a ACT 2600 while we where having problems to see if it would clear up the problem.

No such luck! Any Ideas?

Well, the fork pivots all the way and bottoms out on the "fork window"

so the pedal must be pushing the hydraulic system to extend the slave cylinder all the way.

Would this make sense?

My mechanic is the one working on it, so I'm sure he put it in right (guy knows his stuff...9 second galaxy 500). He even called Sheapard racing and they had heard of the problem, but no one has ever told them what was the ultimate problem.

I'm not sure the ball is supposed to be cast to the housing...from what i've seen around here the part # would be MD719602......is this for all years?

Well here is the thing, ACT 2600 takes some more torque to be pushed up against the flywheel. I have seen several guys re-doing the clutch job after not tightening them enough...

Another common problem: improper step on the flywheel... If he hasn’t done it already, make sure that the step is at .610"! I deal with a machine shop with a lot of DSM experience, they still screwed up on my friend’s FW. So now, I NEVER install a FW with out first measuring it.
