Question 1G FWD Equal Length Driveshaft mod.

I've recently installed the left driveshaft from a 1G AWD on my FWD as specified on the Equal Length Driveshaft page (I think it is not available on line anymore). It wasn't easy since I am not a mechanic and I could not rise the car that much but it works. I noticed some improvement (that doesn't give my car the traction of an AWD but made it a lot better) and I just wanted to know if this mod is somehow common or, being most of the hardcore DSMers riding an AWD, just unheard of.

ummm, how can the drive shafts be equal legnth? I'm confused. the diff is on the right side so the left one has to be longer to get to the hub. right? please explain.

You used the intermediat shaft of you AWD right? All you do is take the intermediat shaft and the axle of the AWD and put it on the FWD. The intermediat shaft should be able to bolt on to a FWD car.

The Intermediat shaft is just a shaft that runs from the transmission then attaches to the left front axle. It makes both front axles the same length. The picture shows the L/F axle then the purple circle shows the intermediat shaft bearing which bolts to the block. Then to the right of that is the intermediat shaft.
