forgot to support engine

we took out my friends transmission, and we had to wait over 2 months for a new one to get shipped to us. meanwhile, we accidentally left the motor unsupported. basically, it was just haning there by itself on only the driver side motor mount.

will this cause any damge to engine itself?

Could break the block where it bolts the mount in, could bent the car up where the mount bolts too. Get a tranny jack or something under the oilpan..

Chances are that you will be fine. Just inspect the area of the motor mount for any stress on the engine or mounting piont and put it back together.

Check the accessory belts and pulleys. Make sure they were not bent with the engine weight pushing them against the frame. If there isn't any obvious damage check again when the engine is running and look for any wobbling pulleys.
