shift fork replacement

Has anyone ever done this before and how long have you taken when doing this? Was it pretty str8 out? or was it kinda something a kid shouldn't do? I don't know if its my 1-2 fork that's busted or if its my 3-4 fork.

Yes and no. It doesn't take a whole lot to unbolt things and rebolt things. Problem is getting all the little gimbits in the right order in the right place. As long as you are methodical, and have a REALLY good support (a good shop, a good book, and DOCUMENT EVERYTHING you do) you can do it with very little trouble - note: not NO trouble. Sometihng is bound to surprise you or you will overlook something. To be on the safe side, have a pro do it. If you are big on wanting to learn, can afford to be without the car for a few days, you MIGHT want to try it yourself. Just as a personal note, I will do all my own engine work down to balance and blueprinting, but I won't touch a tranny. It's all in confidence factor.
