Ok, the problem I got with my car is that the auto tranny messed up in my car for the 2nd time. So I go to a local shop and he tells me he's gonna order a "new" rebuilt tranny and that it's gonna be $1500 + labor. Then the car was supposed to be ready in less than week, but then a week became 2 weeks, 2 weeks became a month, a month became 2 months, and now nearly 3 months after he got the car he says it's almost ready so I go check it out and notice that it's the same tranny I had before!! Then he tells me he ordered the wrong torque converter and that's it gonna be a couple more days.  What I'm trying to find out is what's the price for getting a tranny rebuilt, because I feel he's trying to play me, and I don't feel like giving $2000 dollars away. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

avg. price for removing, rebuilding, installing an auto tranny can be up in the $2000 range. Not quite sure what he is doing to your car, but maybe you should be a little more inquisitive.
