shifter locking up

in the past two days this has happened to me 4 times, i'll down shift into 3rd coming to a stop then when i pull it out of 3rd and slow to just about a stop and try to go into first it feels like my shifter is getting hung up on something because it is not letting me go over to the 1-2 gate, it is staying in the 3-4 gate and like i said it feels like it is getting hung up, like neutral has close my way to 1-2 gate so i put it into 3rd and back out and it will let me into the 1-2 gate.

Does anyone have any ideas, or has this happened to anyone?

someone please help, i have my center console apart, intake out, and I want to change my tranny fluid but not if i'm going to have to have someone pull the tranny.
