Hardshifting Auto

[Laser_1.8l]

I have a 90 laser non turbo 1.8l and my transmission is hard shifting. It drives fine in first gear but doesnt like to shift to second. If you hammer it, it will go to about 7000 rpms shift to second then go back into first... But if u drive it normally it will shift thru all of the gears just really hard. Checked fluid but fluid was fine just is black and smelles burnt wuts wrong???

Change the fluid!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My car was doing the same thing months before I lost Reverse, Nuetral, 2nd Gear, and 4th Gear. Tranny fluid shouldn't be black or smell burnt. ASAP change the fluid and filter. I had to change my tranny out of my automatic 90 Laser RS (2.0L ) bc I put it off and it was expensive. Try changing the fluid and filter then see what happens.

Thanx for the tip, thats wut my neighbor said... "hes one of those guys who thinks he knows everything. " So I decided to turn to u guys because u guys more than likely have had the experience urself so thanks anyways.
