Synchro Install Prices

I've seen alot of posts about people needing new synchros and everyone points them to TRE or BMtranny. Well, my car is gettin to the point of wanting a new 2nd gear synchro and I might go with a double synchro deal. How much would a shop charge to install this. 500$??
Should I just wait untill the clutch install and have them throw the clutch in as well?

BTW, this is on my '92 tsi AWD

Tranny removal is usually about $400 and maybe another $200 to open it up and install new parts. Build the whole thing at once. All new syncros at least. And yeah, do a clutch at the same time.

hey, i think my 2nd gear synchro is bad too. i was racing a kid and my tranny got stuck in 2nd gear and now it feels weird when i put it into 2nd and it like clicks. Is that a bad synchro???? and i thought u didn't have to open the tranny for a synchro???? so how much would it be for that just replaced???

oooh. No, it's not like a bone marrow transplant, you can't just drop it in and let it find its way. The tranny's gotta come apart.
