I have a '91 Eclipse AWD 2.0 Turbo. I have a major loss of power. When in going ater stoppig it sounds like the transmission is taking off from second gear. There is no pickup after flooring it. My RPMs will go to about 3,000-3,3000 and stop. At 70MPH my RPMs are about 5,000. The car overheats when going high speeds (it does fine around town), also. A stock '03 Honda Civic Si kicked my ass by like 10 or more car lengths.

Also, manually shifting the tranmission doesn't help. All gears feel pretty much the same. No power.

I don't know whether it may be the Transmission Control Unit or the actually tranny needs to be rebuilt.

It seems like my tranny may only be getting second and third gears.

There is no power at the take off or any top end.

Does anyone know if a 1G FWD tcu would work on a 1G AWD tranny?

Also, could someone tell me the location of the tcu in a 1G?
