I have a thumping under acceleration but only in fifth gear. Vibration and noise goes away when I let off the gas or down shift to 4th. Also have a problem on hard left turns at low speeds, it acts like I've put on the brakes. Getting ready to replace the ball joints, thought I Would replace the front half shafts while everything was apart. Wheel bearings have about 30k on them. Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Check the bracket on the half shaft for the driver CV shaft, It has the tedency of breaking off or vibrating and hanging. It has two bolts that bolt the the lower back side of the motor.

Partially resolved. The thumping was a bad tire. Still feels like the brakes come on during a slow speed left turn. Bolts are tight on the bearing block.
