I just had a 2600 installed about 3 weeks ago and it ran fine for the first two weeks but now is out of whack. The engagement point of the pedal changes everyday and seems to be directly related to the weather/temp of the car. I live in Minnesota and when its really cold and the car isn't warmed up the engagement point is just a little off the floor. But when the car warms up in cold weather it comes more toward me to about 1/4 from the top. And what's even worse is that when its warm the engagement is about 1/4 from the top when just started, and when it warms up the point is past the pedal. As in the peadal will be all the way out, and the clutch won't engage fully, it'll engage halfway, and my car struggles to go and just slips. What could be wrong, I caled the shop to bring it in today, and when I explained the problem the guy I talked to was clueless what it could be. Could it be the break in, I didn't boost for the first 200 miles and slightly boosted till around 350 miles before I first gave it more than half throttle.

the first thing to check with a hydraulic system that reacts strongly to temp changes is the fluid itself. brake fluid is hygroscopic and you could have water in the fluid and when the sytem gets hot, it boils, expanding in the line and pushing on your slave cylinder. The first thing I would do would be 1. check for leaks, 2. make sure you have fluid in the resevoir, 3. bleed the system enough to replace all of your fluid with new.

Hopefully that will fix it

this might help.. towards the end of the page, you'll see info for clutch adjustment, and the problem both me and you are having..

I've bled my clutch, and still having the problem of engagement travel.. when the car is "cold" engagement is low, and when the car warms up, the pedal gets stiff, and engagement is too high, but fortunately for me, not slipping..

I just brought it to the shop to get it adjusted quickly and diagnosed. It is now going to be there for some time. The shop doesn't know whats up, they checked the master and slave cylinder, every hydraulic line, and they are dumbfounded by it so it looks like its going to be ripped apart again and everything looked over. But while I was bringing it there I stopped quickly at the bank, and when I got back to it it didn't move an inch in reverse or 1st when the pedal was all the way out, so i let it sit at the bank for 45 minutes then it barely grabbed and I crawled to the shop just in time for my apointment.

The shop called me yesterday. They still don't know what's up.l They are now checking all hydraulic lines for clogs and are ordering some parts, they don't believe its mechanically broken in the clutch. But won't my pressure plate be slightly glazed from not engaging and me driving around with it slipping slightly?
