TRE vs. Sheppard

Im about to have my tranny rebuilt, and was just trying to get opinions from people that have had theirs rebuilt by TRE and John Sheppard... Thanx--

Both are very good. I recommend going with Shepherd since he's cheaper, he does just as good if not better work.

Not to mention that Shep takes much less time to do it. One of our local guys had to wait 6 month for his TRE rebuild to come back...

But they both do very good work.

I had shep do mine, and it was very quick. Full race rebuild, billet shift rods, and a 4 gear spyder differential in a few weeks.

This may be helpful due to the fact that this information is not posted on Sheppard's sight and RRE has descriptions about their process/parts used in their rebuilds. I emailed www.shepracing.com about what's involved with his tranny rebuilds and he sent me this in return (1/31/03). Trans is tagged then degreased and pressure washed. All parts are cleaned to inspect for wear and an estimate is written up for approval unless it falls within the estimate already given. Below is a list of parts that would fall under a std rebuild/upgrade.
