It's never lit up since I have bought the car. Is it only supposed to show up when it gets to hot?

Is there a fuse for this light? (I haven't found one.)

Thanks Guys

Why does nobody know anything about this gauge? In the overhead light console, it says "A/T Temp." I assume it should be a warning light for a hot tranny, but it has never lit up.

Freakin' Chiltons doesn't mention one 1 thing about it!

If it is not necessary I am going to use the space for other electronic devices.

Anyone? Bueller?

Yup, it's an overheat light for the AT fluid. I've never seen one light up, but (I only have manuals anymore) I don't know if it's supposed to do a "test" lightup like all the other bulbs do. Nothing when you turn the key to "on" before starting?
As for needing it.... I've never seen a transmission warning light ever come on, in about 30 years of driving the usual life's mix of cars and trucks.
