this is a new one on me, I got my new flywheel (stock unit) and it has no teeth around the edge (that the starter grabs).. they said that i just ordered the flywheel and not the "flywheel gear" and that the "gear" will be an extra $70..

what the hell?

so.. can i use the gear off my old flywheel? its in perfect shape, no screwed up teeth or anything.. i assume you just press it on/off..

what yall think?, this is all news to me...

I don't think it can be that easy. In my experience with flywheels the old gear is cut off the flywheel and is junk. The new gear is heated and the flywheel is chilled when they are put togeather expansion and contraction mate them until the gear is cut off again. Short story sell the flywheel or spend the 70 bucks
