Well i strated my car up for the first time after a engine swap and i can't get it to shift inti any gear when the cr is on. I have got the extreme psi shifer bushing. When the car is off i have very little problem getting it into gear. If i try to start the car say in 1st it even sounds a little different and seems like it wants to launch forward i don't have the slave bracket bolted on the tranny. What else should i look for the?? The tranny, clutch, flywheel, TOB is all just about brand new not even 300 miiles on them. Also the clutch pedal doesn't seem so hard at all like it needs to be bleed would that do it? Just asking so when i wake up tomm i can work on it.

Bleed the clutch and properly attach the slave cylinder

I would do that after everything else is set up correctly

if your master and slave are good and you have adjusted the rod at the pedal with still no luck, you will be dropping the tranny to put in a new fork and clutch ball. and while your in there go ahead and shim it too, just gives you that much more travel.

If you can start it up in gear with the clutch depressed and it still moves after apply a little bit of throttle, your clutch is dragging and not disengaging properly.

best of luck

i can't really start up in gear it dies right away.. In N it's ok and i can keep it going but if i try to shift well it won't shift and i was trying kinda hard. If i shut the car off put it in 1st and try to start it, it dies right away any ideas i know it's like beat ina a dead horse because i didn't try the bleeding it. But it's dark and i do my car right on the street so got to wait till tomorrow.

what do you mean by the slave bracket?

when you start the car, do you have the clutch pedal to the floor and in neutral?
If not, after the car is running and you depress (floor it) the pedal, does it stall? *without touching the shifter, leaving it in neutral.

when the engine isn't running, how difficult is it to find the gears?

what other mods have you done to the clutch hydraulic system, or the transmission shifter cables?

You can't wonder why your car won't start if your engine isn't in your car, so why are you wondering why your car won't shift without the slave cylinder attached to your transmission? What do you think pushes on the clutch fork? Hopes and dreams?

Reattach your slave cylinder, properly bleed the slave + master (plenty of tutorials on this site on how to do that) and then if you still have issues adjust your master cylinder rod, if that doesn't work then let us know and we'll try to help you out.

well guys not for nothing i knew the bracket needed to be bolted i just wanted to see if the darn car would move at all... By the way i just bled the clutch and it's fine. FYI the bracket is still off and the car moves back and forth in a parking space no problem so it wasn't the bracket :thumb:

I think there is a serious communication breakdown in this thread.

If your slave cylinder is not bolted to the transmission (and if that is what you are referring to by "the bracket"), THE CLUTCH IS NOT WORKING AT ALL.
