SES on 99 spyder gs
Okay, Haven't exactly gotten tooo familiar with the car/engine and what not, but I've owned it now for about 3 weeks, and since then theres been no problems.
Last night on my way home from work, my "service engine soon" light pops up and freaks me out,
Dealer says the oil was changed before he even put the car on the lot and also was checked for any mechanical problems,
However on the high way last night I had to give it a little gas to get around some geezer in the fast lane being slow, sooooo I hit the gas, and my RPMs jumped up about 300-400 before the car actually got up to go, I'm assuming my clutch slipped a little, so to test it out I do the same thing in all gears, 1st, no slip, 2nd no slip, 3rd no slip, 4th a little slip, and 5th about the same (4th is the same too) would this trigger my SES light or is that just something else that is going wrong?
Now I've heard you can take it to like autozone or advanced and they can do a diagnostics, is that what I should do while I buy new plugs for it? The oil was rather clean so it wasn't time for an oil change, and i've only put a little over 900 miles on it since I got it, and thats all highway. Last but not least, would changing tranny fluid help me out at all with the slip in 4th and 5th? The dealer who didn't know shit about manual trans said that you don't have to change the fluid unless you do city or heavy driving but when I had my 1g it was every 55k for a change.. Should I go by that saying just to be safe??
I mean has anyone else had this problem with spyders?
