help on Identifying a diff

Every one keeps telling me I have an evo 3 rear diff on my 1997 gsx but when I look at my diff which is the first picture it is different to an evo 3 second pic which is advertised on ebay please can any one clear this up

Don't know whom is telling you that your rear is from an EVO3, but CAPS (Mitsubishi parts lookup) shows a picture of what a 2G AWD Rear Diff looks like which looks exactly like your first pic. If you could post the part# from the housing (MBxxxx) and the information on the sticker on the differential cover, would be helpful :dsm:

just about every one even people off this site now im not knocking any one here but people keep telling me to go for the evo 3 diff any way the number on the side is MB837592 but the sticker fell off thanks Eric
 
pretty sure the evo final drive gear ratio is different. if so you cant run it without an evo transmission.

i hope this aint so because i live in england and the only diff i can get is an evo rs diff the only difference between my diff and an evo rs as far as i know is that the rs has LSD and all i hope to have to do is change my drive shafts please can someone confirm this :barf:
