I did a search but could find exactly what im experiencing. When I launch my car I take it up to about 6 grand and slip the clutch out quickly. As I do that I stay on the throttle and when I get the clutch all the way out Im still moving forward a bit but my Front tires break free for about 3/4 of a sec. Is that normal for an AWD to just ave the front tires break free like that. I'm just wonderinging if something could be wrong with my tranny or differentials or something. HOw han I tell if all my AWD components are working properly and I want to eventually have even distribution of power to all four wheel, I have ABS not LSD, other than getting LSD what can I do? Thanks guys:dsm:

it's normal. it's just a sign that you aren't a big pu$$y. :)

in the AWD system for our cars (and my others... just not mine!), the axles (and each individual wheel) are allowed to move at different speeds. otherwise, the car wouldn't be able to turn. each tire takes a different path through a turn, which means each tire will go a different speed through the turn. the center differential, and front and rear diffs are there to allow the wheels to spin at different speeds. when you're launching and spinning the front wheels, you're getting the weight off the front wheels and the center differential doesn't lock them to the same speed as your rears, so they get a few extra rotations sometimes. hope that helps.

LOL thanks a lot bro, I like to think im not a big pu$$y when I launch and race as do many dsm'ers out there. Is there a way to check the system other than jacking it up and putting it in gear or is that not really a good idea? Are there things that you can easily see and check if you lift up the car, or is it stuff that you can only see if you open things up (I.E. transfer case, tranny, ect.) or do you just kinda feel it when you drive?

Hmm, they didn't offer ABS in '90...

If you want to get close to 50/50 torque split you will have to weld your center diff or your Viscous coupling. There were a few threads on that subject.

It's easy to check the center diff viscous coupling. Just jack up one front wheel off the ground and try to turn it by hand. There should be some freeplay, then very stiff resistance. If it's working right you should be able to turn it slowly if you push hard.

WOW they didn't have ABS in 90 huh??? The guy I bought the car from told me it was ABS if had it for almost 4 months now and thought I had ABS instead of the LSD option, Awesome. Thanks a lot for the help guys, i'll try that jacking up one wheel and turning it suggestion tomorrow. Happy new Year

Hi guys, I have 1995 gsx, and i damaged my gearbox twice, beacuse of some havy launches. Now I'm affraid of launching it again, Im affraid it doesn't tolerate.
Is there any wayI can modify my gearbox so it tolerates.

thanks

I lifted my car off the ground and tried turning each wheel, and my differentials are fine thanks a lot man!!! but then I was on my way home from work and I thnk I've lost my clutch, actually Im sure I did, the pedal just stays one the floor when I push it in and i cant get it into gear. I had to push my car over 1/2 mile home, needless to say I was very tires and VERY PISSED. But I replaced the clutch only 5 months ago, what could have caused it to go out soo fast, I don't beat on my car that bad or so I thought? When I replace my clutch is it a good Idea to go with an ACT 2600 for my with my setup or what? Would it hurt anything, because I herd mixed opinions about them I just want something that will be good and last because eventually I plan to get a BIG16G. It really sucks because just when I almost have enough money saved to purchase my next performance mod, SOMETHING F%*#'n breaks AAAAHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!

thanks for answering on my question.
the problem is that I live in the Bahrain(persian gulf) and we dont have this parts here so I have to order parts from the US.
were should i search, do you have a name, or web page I can look for

look through the sponsors page, or check dsm.org and go to the vendors market..

Sounds like the clutch master cylinder is bad - not the clutch. Look for fluid on the firewire, or floormat. Get a new one, bleed the system, and you should be fine.

Also check your clutch fork, it may have snapped, especially if you didn't replace it with the clutch.
