lately ive been having problems going into reverse. sometimes i put it in gear and when i try to engange i dont go anywhere and it makess this grinding noice like CCHHHRRRRRRRRRRR (sorry for the onomonopia) and the other day i was backing out of my driveway and it was going fine but it POPed out of gear! is my tranny going bad or could it just be a minor problem?

I'd like to know about this too, this has happened to me with TWO of the DSMs I've owned (a 94 Talon DL and a 92 Talon TSi). Is this clutch/tranny related or is this just another common DSM problem?

Try going into 4th then reverse. It helped for me. Along with the poping out of gear thing...Make sure that everything is tight. Wiggle the shifter cables above the trans and make sure there isn't any play. There is a bracket that bolts to the side of the transmission with two screws. Make sure those are tight too. My talon usto pop out of gear all the time. It started to do it worse and worse. My cables were lose like a mofo. Hope it helps!

This has happend to me a few times, usualy if its cold out the gears tend to be ###, and not go in properly i sugguest before u reverse hold the clutch in and go threw all the gears real quick then put her in reverse, this solves my problems.

hey i've had the same problem with my car... i think i know what it is though...that grinding / buzzing noise whenever you put in gear or reverse is the solenoid by the tranny.. i suggest you have it checked out or replaced.. i haven't done it yet so don't qoute me on it but i've had a problem where my car would screw up and the the kill safe switch or whatever would leave my car in only one gear which is mainly caused by an electrical problem and that and the solenoid r kinda related.. hope this helps....
