Ok, my tranny was completely rebuilt 10k miles ago by the previous owner. The Clutch, slave and master cylinders were all replaced at the same time.
I have to pump the clutch a couple times to get it into reverse.
And its like I always have to force the shifter into 1st.

What is wrong?

master or slave cylinder leaking / and or bad synchros...if u have to pump it its the master cyl...

The master cylinder was replaced 1k miles or less before I bought the car. And its done it ever since I got it.

Try adjusting the linkage at the shifter... there is a Vfaq about it. Hope it helps.

Does anyone know of a way to rebuild the master clutch cylinder on a 1g or do you just have to buy another one? Does anyone know of a place to get one cheap?

I would just buy another one instead of rebuilding. As for wheer to get them check Conicelli Mitsubishi (spelling?) or Talahasee Mitsu, booth have "DSM Club" discunts on all parts. There is also another place that sells master and slave replacements, I'll have to look for the link. They had both master and slave package for 130 bucks or so

my 92 is also hard to shift into reverse and first gear. The previous owners had the tranny looked at 6000 miles ago, and the mechanic could not find anything wrong with it. Up here in alaska it shifts the same weither its forty below zero or above.
