I am thinking of buying a tranny that has a 22 spline output shaft and mine uses a 23.What would be involved to switch a 22 spline tranny over to a 23?

Thanks

being an awd don't you have that goofy cv shaft on the left side with the jack shaft.
Also make sure the clutch/flywheel diameter is the same, but cv shafts you can pick up new for like $40 a piece at Autozone if not another DSM guy

Well my 91 came with a 22 spline shaft, you need to make sure it's not a 90 trans. Then pop the end case off and that will expose the VC and output shaft. Just swap out the output shaft and put it back together. It really is a piece of cake. Just make sure you don't loose the little ball that holds it in place. I had to do it when I bought a 23 spline trans for my 91.

I know the trans I was looking at was a 22 spline. How do I know if its a 91 and not a 90?
What is wrong with the 90's?
Thanks for all the info.

Savage- If it is a 90 should I stay away from it,LOL. Are there any detailed instructions to switch from a 22 to a 23?
