So, a few months back, (a few days before my car was down for 2 months) I replaced both my clutch master cylinder and slave cylinder. This is at least the 3rd time these have been replaced since i've had my car (got it in '98). Today, my clutch started to lose some of its pressure, so I check the fluid reservoir when I get home, and it's low. I then whipped out my flashlight and checked out the master for leaks, and inside around the pedal, looks fine. I get to the slave, and sure enough, it's wet. WTF?! I'm getting sick of replacing this piece of junk.

What I want to know is if anyone has any idea why this slave keeps going bad? Is it just my bad luck or could something be affecting it to keep messing it up?

Make certain it's the slave. Mine cracked two hardpipes right at the shoulder of the flare nut going into the cylinder. I cured it with a swap to a RRE braided line (and, got rid of the accumulator in the bargain).
If it's just a failed slave, then yes, it's bad luck on your part(s). Get the next one from a different shop. I think they're all Chinese now, mine was a Raybestos (from Kragen), a fine American company who now hires the Taiwanese to build their parts. Makes me proud to be world citizen, just like all the other tools of the capitalists.

I actually already have the RRE braided line, but i'm going to check around it tand all the nuts and bolts just to be sure.

i had a similar problem with my 95 gst. turned out the pressure plate was screwed. with the new master and slaves, is the pedal somewhat difficult to depress (as compared with other cars?) i went to one shop, they told me the pressure plate was screwed. went to another and was told it was just the slave cylinder. went the cheap route. three months later...new friction disc, pressure plate, and another slave cylinder. good luck bro.
