ok today i really started to notcie this little bit of a bucking action when im driving normal and i let off the gas, it seems the cars kinda bounces, but when i give it gas it smoothes out! can anyone help, and also when my car is idleing there is a dry metal on metal sound comming from the trans, but when i depress the clutch it goes away, im thinking this is my throw out bearing !!! any other suggestions?

1) A little bucking is somewhat normal. AWD's have more drivetrain intersections than a FWD and hence have more 'slop'. This slop will cause a kick back between the input shaft and the wheels. The worse the slop the worse the bucking. Unless its really severe, there isn't much to be done except reshim of the essential components. Severe bucking may indicate something more.

2) Sounds like a throw out bearing. It also could be the pivot ball on the the TOB release fork. The good news: it probably won't hurt clutch activation until it completely dies. The bad news: it could completely die tomorrow or 5 years from now. The worse news: to replace it and check the fork and pivot ball you will need to drop the tranny. And then you get a case of the 'WhileImInThere's. Like "While I'm in there, I might as well do the clutch" or "While I am in there, I might as well do the flywheel since I am doing the clutch as well." :)

I've noticed a little bucking in my car. Mainly in 2nd gear at low speeds, slowly accelerating. Also, when I let off the gas in any gear and start to decelerate, my transmission starts rattling. Does anyone know the cause of this?

The rattling sound goes away if I push in the clutch... Could this be a throwout bearing problem?

Im having a similar problem. Sounds like a coke can full of rocks being shaken when I let off the clutch. Push in the clutch and it goes away. Been reading on input shaft bearings and dont know if I want to try that. Sounds a little involved so I wanna try everything else first. I replaced the TOB and nothin changed. I was wiggling the release fork and thought it was a little loose but I have no idea on how it should look. How is there a way to check the release fork for excessive play or whatever I check?
