Ok I swear I live in a state of money hungry douch bags that work on trannys. I was going to do a a/t rebuild I am getting quoted anywhere from $2500 to $3500. I just got off the phone with this cool guy Brent from Forced Fed Racing and he said we will swap my talon to a 5 speed for $2500. I just need to find out a couple things. I have heard that the gear ratios are different from an auto to a 5 speed. Is this true? Brent said it wouldnt be a problem because we would just buy a parts car and we could pull whatever we need out of it. Does anyone have any information about problems we might* run into while doing this swap? Any info on this topic in general would be appreciated.:dsm:

Hey man I want to do the same thing, take out that crappy automatic and put in a 5-speed. That price sounds just about right for some one swap the tranny. Your lucky! Right now I don't have the money to do that, but here are some problems I've heard of,
1.Wire harness-behind Dash
2.Computer
3.Different axles
4.The 5=speeds are hydralic
Thats just a few things to menching, the thought of selling the car has come across my mind alot.

Lucky for me he has a 1g 5 speed ecu at the shop! We know about the axles, thats why we are going to use a donner car. He mentioned the wire harness, but he wasnt sure. What about the 5-speed being hydralic?
