BMTranny or Teamrip??

Which one should I go with? bmtranny isnt as expensive as the teamrip tranny (AWD race tranny) Which would you choose and why?

I have a BM race tranny (4 spider ctr. diff. and EVO shift forks) in my car now and love it. BM does very good work and has faster turnaround time and cheaper prices than the competition. If you’re looking for a shop to do your rebuild you should definitely consider them. http://bmtranny.com/

I just got my tranny done from TRE and they did a good job. I would suggest going with them, but if you need your tranny done fast, the I would go with BM I have hear some bad stuff from BM. But don't let that stop you. They have a fast turn around thou. I can't wait to try my Double synhros 3rd and 4th.

I have BM's "race tranny" I have nothing but good things to say about them. They have a fast turn around time & really took care of me. I have heard horror stories about dealing w/ TRE as far as trannies go. Tre normally takes at least a month to do anything... & that's a long time when it's your only transportation. BM had my tranny back to me in about a week and a 1/2.. that's pretty good in my book.

Oh what to choose... one person says one thing and another says another. I really just want a very strong dependable tranny!

Just do a search on dsmtalk or the digest... you'll see all kinda of people that waited several months for TRE stuff... & alot of very satisfied BM customers.

Yes, it's true that you will need to wait longer for the TRE trans. His work is good. And haven't heard anything but good things about his work. As for BM tranny I have heard some bad things. I don't know if I want to list some thing but as an example a guy in chicago had to send his tranny back to BM 3 time, because there was something wrong with it. So the shop just decided to open the trans and fix it. I'm not bashing BM Tranny at all. To my knowlage it was the only trannys that it has happen to in BM tranny life time. There both good.

You’re trying not to bash BM, but your posting about one incident and never heard BM side of the story. Recently BM had one TRE tyranny’s in their shop which TRE tried to rebuild multiple times, but the tranny kept breaking. BM rebuilt the tranny and the owner has not had any problem with the tranny since.

You should do a little research about TRE on the Talon digest and other forums before you start bad mouthing BM Tranny. I’ve been dealing with BM Tranny for a while now and have heard nothing but good things about them. Great bunch of guys that provide excellent rebuild tranny service, engine repair/maintenance/upgrades. They just installed an AWD dyno, so you know there serious about helping out the DSM community.

I'm just letting you know what I have heard. I have nothing against BM Tranny. I just giving a fair chance between the two. So did I bash TRE when I told him it would take a long time to get your trans done??? Dude chill. I don't know much about BM but I do know that RRE uses TRE. That what one of the guys at RRE told me and they said his tranns are good. I'm just letting him know what I have heard. NO Bashing.. If I was bashing I would be like the stupid idiot can't build trans worth of ****. That bashing. I'm just giving info to what I know. That all blackdragon013 wants to know. Peace

Well I just want to thank everyone for their input. I think I'm going to have to go with BM tranny not only for $$ purposes but also due to their turnaround time.

well down time is associated with owning a dsm. im going with TRE, it seems that they have many more tras mods available on their site. i also like that crazy 5th gear mod that tre has *I MUST HAVE THIS*

Beware JDM, the 5th gear is straight cut and is going to whine! TRE is now a full time shop, so their turn around time has been cut drastically. If you check out the digest I bet you won't find any turn around complaints in the last 6 months. I have a TRE tranny with double synchro 2nd gear and it is very nice. I had it back in just over a week.
