Fidanza Flywheel with new friction plate
Braided SS clutch line
New master cylinder
New slave cylinder
System bled three times. No bubbles.

The biggest problem would be that it's grabbing right off the floor. Within the first 20min of driving the car, it's not that bad. But then after, it seems like the engagement point drops a little bit more (why??)...then it will grind going into reverse and is a pita to get into first. The master cylinder is adjusted out as far as it can go without getting any 2G "pump up". Also, the pedal won't go all the way to the floor. It stops about an inch before. The more the master is adjusted out, the farther away the pedal is from the floor when depressed. So basically, adjusting the master isn't doing anything for me. Why is this?

And when I'm decellerating, something vibrates...extremely loud. I can't really tell if it's coming from the tranny area or underneath me. Cruising around 3000RPM and 18-20in/hg I get the same vibration, but less severe. Also, if I start off slow in first or reverse, there is a ton of chatter and vibration...like my tranny and rear end are just gonna hop out. It already broke the plug for my reverse lights!

Annnd...this has happened about 4 times now: http://media.putfile.com/weird_noise . If I was gonna pull something outta my ass, I'd say it was the starter engaging randomly one outta thirty times I go WOT. WTF

So what's going on here?

how did the clutch fork look? When everything was put back in did the end of the clutch fork was close to the driverside or to the passengerside or even just dead on in the middle.

Does it matter if the slave is connected? Here's what it looks like currently..

that looks like its biased towards the passengerside, not good. The fulcrum ball/clutch fork is probably worn. I hate to say this but the tranny possibly needs to come back out unless someone out there knows a trick to fix this without removing the tranny.

Either you can buy a new fork/fulcrum ball or shim the fulcrum ball with a couple of washers.

another note. Pull the slave cylinder off and and if the fork remains in the same position then you definitely have a worn fulcrum ball/fork. If the slave cylinder shoots the rod out without you pushing the clutch in and the fork moves back then you have a problem with your master cylinder not releasing pressure

Just wanted to chime in here, since I was the one doing the clutch on Ryan's car.

Pivot ball is already shimmed, shimming it even more would keep T/O bearing racing.
Fork also checked out good. In addition, neither of those things explane on/off performance. If it was indeed ball/fork, it wuld cause constant disengagement issues. I still incline towars hydraulic-related issues. We are going to try 1G slave, since it's smaller in diameter, and may provide more travel, and see what comes out of that. Other then that, or bad hyraulic fitting somewhere, I can only suspect pressure plate.

The car has now decided it doesn't want to go into gear at all. Nothing is obstructing the shift levers...it's just a big pita disengagement issue.

I sent an email to Slowboy with no response. I probably should have stuck with my slipping Centerforce ..

Any ideas??

Put a new fork-ball-and tob in it. You dont have much throw there before it hits the bell housing. Some clutches need a good amount of throw to release.

I just went through changing my setup to a Fidanza flywheel with a SBR4000. I had the same issues you are having. I wound up pulling the tranny again  and putting a new fork and pivot ball in. I also added a 1.5mm washer under the pivot ball to give it a little extra breathing room. Everything looks great now. I know pulling the tranny again sucks but best of luck!

:D :D :D :D :D

She's running perfectly now. No disengagement issues...no more grabbing off the floor.

Paul dropped the tranny again and it seems two dowel pins popped out of the flywheel and were flying around the whole assembly. The TOB got murdered by them, and they scoared a little bit of my fidanza, but it was okay to reuse. But yeah, everything's good now. :thumb:
