So my friend is helping me build an engine capable of handing about 500 - 550 horse (finally after a long time saving). i know my tranny WILL crap out becaue dsm trannys break really easily. I was on the site www.teamrip.com and reading about there tranny services..... I was jsut wondering if anyone has had tranny work done by them and what services did you get done.....And most importantly are you satisfied?

Thanks for the help

TRE does a really good job. I just installed a 2G awd drive tranny from TRE for a friend. I didn't not have time to rebuild it for him so I sent him to TRE. The tranny did everything TRE said it would do.

He just bought a tranny from them with the standard TRE mods. He didn't send his in the case was cracked.

i also installed a TRE transmission in my friends car.....after a bad tranny from the dealer, they rebuilt it, and it was even worse. then he found TRE and loves the tranny, shifts tight and right, no slop or grinds. i actually had to take it back apart as soon as he got it because fed ex dropped it on the shift rail on the outer case where the cable ends hook to. needless to say, i was very impressed. it was spotless on the inside, everything done he wanted, very nice job. now if i could only say what a hack job came out of cortese mitsubishi eveytime ive seen.......they intentionall leave the rubber breather off the top so dirt will slowly grind our tranny to bits, and then your back to them for a new one...

I have a tre with all the goodies tre spec 1st and 2nd heavy duty 3rd and fourth, they didnt have the double synchros avalble for 3rd and fourth when I got it.. I am very happy with it I drive the crap out of it and it hasnt broken yet, I a m sure that I will eventualy break it but thats expected the way I tend to beat on it. I heard that magnus is comming out with a new tranny, a dog box right around 5k but they have been trying to break it in there awd drag car and it has held up. I think that thats pretty inmpresive

I have heard bad thing abou the dual 3rd/4th setup. A local guy got it done and broke 3rd gear. The gears actually break from what I hear. If you feel the need to beef up 3rd/4th, get the HD 3rd/4th whihc is out of a 90-92 tranny.

I just finished breaking in my TRE tranny it is the sh*t I would recommend it to anyone. I paid a total shippen to Colorado $2375 I just got the standard tranny it is nice shifts great.
