I'm putting in a new OEM throw out bearing and return clip and I can't figure out how the clip goes back on. Every position I put it in, it seems loose. I heard if you install it wrong it can get bent up.

Can somebody please explain to me the right position it should be in?

ok I took some pictures...is one of these the correct way?

A) over the bearing

B) on the edge of the bearing

C) on the fork side

off topic but: How did you get your transmission so clean? I've sprayed some simple green around it and hosed it off and it still looks a little dirty...yours looks brand new.

Thanks,
Sherwin

A is correct except that the ends need to be lifted on the TOB. Just like the center. I hope that helps Try it and take another picture. I'll tell you if it's right.

That is glass beaded. No cleaner will get a trans that clean

I've done over 10 plus installs of my car or other friends cars. I've installed them all like A, but I put the end of the clip on the TOB and not under it. So I think I works. But :shhh: Don't tell anyone.

In order for some worth to come from this thread, how about someone puts a picture that correctly, and clearly shows the correct (says the factory) way to install the clip.

LOL ok, let me go pull my tranny real quick... ;)

Anyway, just go ahead and install it like A who gives a F*ck anymore. :rocks:

Ok I'll go ahead and install it like picture A. Thanks for the help guys.

p.s. my tranny looks like new because I just got a Shep rebuild and they do a process called "aluma-blast" on it or something.

Use A but try and get the whole clip over the TOB. Not just the middle, get the outside edges also. Good luck.
