Al right, here's the deal. I bought a 95 GST with a 6 bolt swap that was rather sloppily installed. The car was running Crower pistons and rods (stock compression), a mild cam, small 16g (stock fuel system), and a 3 in exhaust with a complete 6 bolt (head and block) when I got it. Car was running about 12 lbs. of boost. QUITE fast, for mostly stock. I installed a new timing belt shortly after purchasing. The intake was advanced one tooth, and the exhaust was retarded one tooth before I did the belt. I corrected the timing and all of a sudden the car runs like crap. He had the plug wires reversed from the stock setup (32 14), which I understand is fine according to the firing order. The injectors needed to be rewired, which I did according to VFAQ. The O2 sensor wasn't even hooked up right, and I of course fixed that as well. The CAS does appear to be correctly wired using the method that does not tap into the ECU directly (hence the rewiring). I've installed my SAFC and left it alone until my logger arrives this week. I've also, against my better judgment, performed the pot. mod too. Bottom line: since I replaced the belts, the car runs poorly (stuttering all over the place no matter what I do). Why did this car run so damn well with the mechanical timing screwed up? Am I missing a step in correcting the 1st gen drivetrain to 2gen chassis problems? PLEASE HELP!
Oh, and by the way, I have yet to throw any code at all. I have a scan tool hooked up just in case the bulb may be out or something along those lines, and nothin', no codes.
