Had clutch release problems

had clutch release problems,, so i changed the slave cylinder and nothing so hopeing it wasnt the throwout bearing i replaced the clutch master cylinder and bingo that was the problem..
Question to anyone that may know..
I used ATF (automatic transmission fluid) instead of break fluid ### that was all i had on hand at the time to test the master cylinder and this seems to work fine..
the question is will this harm the master/slave or should i change to break fluid ..?
thanks in advance: Chuck
