well I am having some issues with my tranny and there seems to be alot of sugestions as to what it could be but no one thing is deffinate or more predominate in assumptions. Let me give you some background the other day I just finished putting in my new setup and getting tuned when me and some friends decided to go get some lunch. On the way to go my friend wanted to see what my car was made of so after turning onto the main street mashed the gas. I spun all threw first slammed second(probably harder than I should have) spun through all second and then let off. Here is where the problems start, when I went to casually put it into third it stuck. The car is stuck somewhere inbetween nuetral and where third should be.

Some weird things about it though are that, if the car is running and I let out the clutch no grinding is heard but the car dies slowly. If the clutch pedal is out and I push the car it rolls freely but doens't turn over the engine. I was thinking either blown clutch or broken shift fork(I have evo forks in mine), but I have heard all sorts of things from throw out bearings to destroying the diff to all sorts of other problems. If someone has any insight as to what this could be so that I have a clue of what to look for when I take off the tranny that would be greatly appreciated.

dude sounds identical to what i did to mine... I broke the 1-2 shift fork... it was stuck in 2nd and I obvesiouly couldn't get it to go anywhere and it wanted to stall the motor... I can push it it any gear which was strange... Or maybe I just never tried 3-5... Anyways... I did a 2-3 shift HARD at 7.4K RPM.... I regret it now... Getting a TRE Base/Race tranny now... So I shoudn't have this problem again...

well it is a race tranny which baffles me. Maybe it just wasn't warm enough yet?? ya I ma thiking back on the situation and a really hard 1-2 shift at almost 8k probably wasn't the most brilliant of things.
