Well, IMHO, a street disk is for cars that will be driven on the street (hence name). The 4 or 6 puck racing clutches are not very streetable (although they last a long time), in that they have two conditions: engaged and disengaged. They don't slip very well, and that can lead to some roughdriving characteristics, not to mentioned broken parts if you don't build up the rest of your drivetrain (assuming you make some real power).

ROT: If your going to drive it for transportation, get a street disk.
 
I have a 6 puck on my daily driven 1990 GSX and I have never broken anything. The clutch engagement isn't bad at all IF YOU KNOW HOW TO DRIVE. I say if you know how to drive get it. It will last much longer than the street disk if you race alot like me.

Excelent... thank you for posting a pic, Lordmunch. See the center hub on the 6 puck disk? It has no damping springs, so nothing can "take up" the surge of torque delivered during a hard launch. If you make serious power, and race with a 6 puck, plan to have alot harsher engagement (on the street) and potentially break more parts. Maybe you won't break as many things if your engine is stock, but then why do you need a "6 puck racing disk"? A street disk and an ACT2100 or 2600 will make a LOT of hard launches before you need to change it. Just ask DSMotorsports or T.R.E.

Get the street disk...
