New kind of Syncromesh?

When I went to the GM dealer to get Syncromesh fluid they told me there were 2 types available, the original Syncromesh from the 80s and then they also had a new type of Syncromesh that had a 5% friction modifier in it. Has anyone heard about and/or used this? I went with the original just to be safe but I'm curious what this new stuff is about.

Dont quote me, but I believe the new stuff is just a synthetic. The old stuff is the original and the new stuff is the synthetic version. BG did the same thing too, and I went with the old stuff too....

Use the old, non-synthetic original.
