I did the left rear on my TSI awd. It is not the hardest thing.....but with out enough tools it would suck. I did it on a lift which made it easy.

You need an inner and outter bearing, and you need a seal. I got all 3 from an Advance Auto.....special order, but they arrived quickly...1 or 2 days.

1. Take you wheel off.
2. Remove the caliper and rotor
3. Unbolt the axle....easy enough...3 bolt for you, mine was four.
4. With the axle unbolted you can not get to a large nut....I used an impact gun.

5. With that nut off, the manual tells you to fasten a slide hammer to the wheels studs and pull the front of the hub off. I did not have a slide hammer.....so I took a 3 jaw puller and fasten two of the jaws to inner hub(where the axle bolted to), then the center of that puller was used to push out the out hub. Theorectically, it may be possibel to beat it out with a punch and a BFH, but pessing it like I did popped it out.

6. With the outter hub free, I had to press the bearing off of that and the new on back on.

7. Using an socket and BFH, I punched the larger bearing out(its still on the car) I then tapped the new bearing in with a hammer and a large socked. Then I tapped the seal in with by putting a piece of exhaust pipe into it and tapping with a hammer.

8. Pop the outter hun back in, install the big nut, and as you tighten the nut, it will suck the whole assemble together. Bolt the axle back up. Throw the rotor and caliper back on. Bokt the wheel back on and your done.

The lift makes things real easy. The 20-ton press makes changing the one bearing possible.
