my clutch is not fully disengaging(car will still roll when in gear with clutch pedal down and doesn't like shifting all that much) and it has been babied. since my car is all stock i decided to go with the stock clutch and that fukcer crapped out on me in a year. no i don't drive it hard and gave it a nice 700 mile break-in. all hydraulics were replaced when i did the clutch, they still look like they're in good order. just bled the system and it hasn't gotten any better. haven't gotten the tranny off the car yet to look, but was wondering if someone else might have had this same problem or has a good idea what it could be.

I will bet money that it is your clutch peadal assy.. There is a nut that goes on the clutch pedal lever and it seems to come loose on quite a few 1G's. Check out this site, http://www.taboospeedshop.com/clutch_pedal_assembly.htm . The nut that I'm referring to is the on that threads on to the rod that comes through the hole that is circled in red at the top of the page. Hope this makes sense.

i read what was on tss and it makes sense, but at the same time, i was wondering if this could happen with stock components. the clutch was always stock mitsubishi or comparable, never an "upgrade". just wondering if someone could save me some time. think i'll start by checking the pedal assembly. do i need to weld the clutch assembly? just wondering if i could use some loctite on that fukcer because a welder is not that accessible, but then i guess i can always pay someone to do it. if i need to pull that damn tranny off the car i will. if anyone can tell me how long changing the clutch takes, it would be greatly appreciated. i've done a clutch swap on my other car in two afternoons, about 10 hours total. never did the talon(awd) by myself before, i had a friend who did his a few times and knew exactly what to do so it was accomplished in 1 afternoon. since he did most of the work, i would be changing the clutch mostly from the manual and the vfaq. thanks.kevin

I would just try to tighten that nut up again. It took it almost 10 years to loosen this time, so I don't think you have to worry about it again. You don't haver to weld it, tha tis more for extreme cases.

I wish someone would have sent me that link when I asked that same question. Man that really is going to help out. I was thinking that everyone was telling me to extend the C-Clip out farther from the CMC and it was already maxed out.

Inadvertently,
Thanks!
