IMO Heat paint isnt worth it, color changes and isnt even half effective as ceramic coating

That is actual cermaic coating. It's not just heat paint. Others have used this same stuff with great results. If you go back I posted a picture of the can. The only difference is it comes out a can not professional gun. I even did research on other brands it has the same heat range.

Thanks and nope that is the main one. I've been busy but I actually picked up my 6 bolt shortblock I'm going to be disassembling and taking pictures of by like weds this week. I feel bad because the guy helping me finish this paint job keeps getting sick but this guy is killing my time table. I would have a lot more installed pics and less just parts pics but the shell is still at his house. I can drive over there and throw the front bar on but it's like why waste a trip it's just a cross bar. Anyone can see what it looks like installed from Paul's pictures. The rest i don't want to get damaged or paint on it so I"m just holding off.

Wait till you see it all together I"m just waiting for enough people to hop on this group buy on the link for aluminum rods and my b day is the 19 of feb so I should get enough money to finish the engine at least and get everything back together and in the car.
Wow man everything looks nice, this really makes me want to start my build early. haha to tearing that motor down in the kitchen, hope everything goes how you want it man; props to you. Can't wait to see the progress on this.

Great build Slippi! Nice to see I’m not the only one that works on stuff inside, but tearing down a shortblock takes the cake. I’ve never attempted anything that ambitious indoors or out.
You might want to double check on the safety factor of using your kitchen stove. I swear I read or heard something about the chemicals being bad for you. Therefore, you’re supposed to use a different stove than you cook your food in. I could be wrong, but just in case I thought I’d mention it.
To the stove and the chemicals being bad for you I wouldn't doubt it. That's why I let my gf use it and I use the Microwave lol j/k. I vented it out for about a hour and cleaned it after every use with disinfectants.
Update: I got the pump and balance shafts out and the block and crank are ready to go to the machine shop tomorrow to be hot tanked and the block bored 20 over. I might consider o-ringing the block if the price is right just for added security even though I have the Felpro performance HG and I will be using L19's.

I think the kitchen is ideal for tearing down and rebuilding a motor. Very clean, easy top clean up and well lit. It doesn't get better than that. I have had quite a few motors temporarily hanging out in the kitchen and I remember my dad doing the same thing way back in the day with his rally car motors. My dad used to always have linoleum floors in the kitchen so that they are easier to clean up than tile and grout. It is hard to get dirty oil out of grout. I remember once I spilled some nasty brake cleaner stuff that made the linoleum floor bubble up into this huge bubble that luckily just went down after a few hours and you couldn't even see where it had been. Not many people have a garage as clean as their kitchen.
I've never seen such a gratuitous amount of cereal in one place!
That's all my gf she's a big cereal eater. I'm just captain crunch and froot loops.
Just got off the phone with my machine guy I have to wait for my pistons so he can accurately bore the block so that clearance and everything is cool so next on the list is wiseco 1400HD pistons
