I am embarrassed to tell you how much I've spent to make a 10 sec street car. Every penny out of pocket and every drop of sweat off my own forehead. What am I missing? Someone let me in on this because I'm going nuts wondering where this money comes from...from normal guys like us??
Bottom line is, whatever you guys are doing to make the money, I want in on the secret.

Well you can start by taking that wing off your car Just busting your balls a little
You have to be realistic you have a caere with nromal bolt on stuff and full interior and aall the stuff us normal people have. Their car is gutted stripped and sporting the notirous 42r. At the end of the day they have sheps car just without the one off stuff that make him as fast as he is. You want to go as fast like this car sell your soul strip your car and sell that wing lol

If I didn't have rent, 2 car payments, insurance on 3 cars (since the Eclipse is paid for), child support, and all the other bills, I'm sure I'd be right there along with having a car like this. Responsibilities sucks!!!

Yeah, yeah, I hear the "wing thing" all the time.
Here is my take on it: I sport a "ricer" wing, and it makes it that much better when I cut some guy in a supercharged Z06 who think he's bad-ass.
My car, honestly isn't just a bolt on, I really did build the whole thing for what it is.
But anyways, yeah I hear ya on the whole theory behind it. I just get fustrated because of the fact. I don't mean to sound mad, jealous, or envious, it's just I look at my accomplishments as failure when I see what they've done.
I mean, I've gutted the car, and gone through the suspension/drivetrain/brakes enough to make a lean 2940lbs with me sitting in the car. I was intending on a clean weekend warrior, not a daily driver.
I know there's some serious modifications that can be encompassed, but I guess in the long run, my intial goal (now reached) is somewhat disappointing, if that makes sense.
As with any project, I set a goal of 600whp and a sick street car. Well, I think I got in over my head when I realized that I built something that cost me about the same it would of chasing an 8 second timeslip.
What I did is common, and noone gives a shit about, what Jake and other have done inspired the whole community. Once again, I'm not mad/ jealous or anything. Just kinda kickin myself in the ass for getting what I want, and it not being good enough.
Once again, I know I spent a few more bucks than I could of (few mistakes along the way) but for my setup compared to what these guys are running, the cost brackets are very, very close.
For lack of embarrassment, I'll keep the solid dollar figure to myslef.
Anyways, great build man, and ya'll keep up the great work. You have totally inspired me to go above and beyond.

I hear ya on that brother.
I don't have the whole child support addition....but I hear the responsibilties aspect.
But I mean, come on.....everyone's got that. There has to be something more....this is a dog eat dog world that evolves around money, and without straying off topic bad....there has to be a hitch.
I want that hitch!!!

You have a stroker a good base and the ability to tune. All you need to do is research I would bet that with about another 2500 you could swap over to a 8 sec setup. Now I know that some of you will come on an go that's a lot of money but I don't want to sound like a dick or rub it in but to some of us it's not. Between little shit that adds up and other stuff I probably spent 3k in the past 3 1/2 months easy.
I will tell you this by looking at your profile abandon you gt35r idea. It has slowly become obsolete. WIth the upcoming of borg warner and with guys liek twick seeing reasonable spool and 700who in a gt4088r there is no point buying a gt35r anymore I feel. It's still a bad ass turbo but there are plenty better for compariable money. Think of it like this sell your setup get a manifold like this one he says is 1100 get a gt4088r or something liek a s366 or such and I would bet with that other tsuff you have on your wish list you would be looking at 9's.

You have to pay to play. I bet Alex has quite a bit more money tied up into this car than you would think and I am sure he has done the buy and replace thing as most of us have as well.
IIRC it is a 2.0l and I am pretty sure the car has been repainted.

The paint is factory, only the engine bay and the interior along with the cage has been done. It will be getting a fresh coat this winter however. And yes it is still a 2.0L, you gotta love those revs

I had a stroker with a T-67 and it spooled fine. Spooled about like a 20g-50 trim would. Took that same turbo and put it on a 2.0 liter and holy crap it sucked. When cruising, I'd punch it and then wait and wait and wait and then it'd hit but I'd have to shift gears. Once I shifted it was fine but boy did it suck on the street when cruising. For now on, it's either 20g-50g turbos on a 2.0 and big turbos on stroker motors only. Had a buddy of mine who wanted to buy my T-67. Told him it took forever to spool but he wanted it anyway. Shortly afterwards, he ended up selling it. Lol. I knew he would. The small turbos are a lotta fun on the street for me.
Track "only" car would be different of course.

The tires are Hoosier Quick Time Pro's with Rota Slipstream Wheels. To the best of my knowledge the tires are street legal. As far as the shoot out. No, I dont think Ill be able to swing that trip. I would love to but I dont think that is a possibility.
