I just think the car really just hates going to the track. A couple of weeks ago it was perfect. Expecting to take it to the track and run like a champ like it did when I put her away. But it kept blowing couplers, did not want to go into second, had some small leaks from the oil pan area and the tranny (nothing to freak out about). You know, just little things.

Yup, I'm thinking its an axle seal is the reason for the leak. Something stupid of course. The water lines for the intercooler may be in the way or binding up the linkage somewhere. That's why its being a bitch getting into second.

Not trying to be a ass but I think you need to take the car to Lucas. He has been working on DSM's longer than Reid. He has also built some of the fastest DSM's and Evo's in the PNW. To me it just seems that Reid is in over his head on this build. I would be willing to bet that if you where to take the car to Lucas the car would end up putting down what we all know it should be. Just try and give Lucas a call and see what he has to say. It not like getting help from a different shop is a bad thing. Shops have been doing it for years.

I think the car is where it should be really. If you look at it from all different angles I think you would agree. I don't really think its a matter of who's been at the game longer either. Sure, Lucas has done some really fast cars, that's not in question. But if we were to play the should have game Paul's 1000+whp Evo it should be deep into the 8's with that power and that could only muster a high 8 second pass. Still very fast don't get me wrong, but don't you think it should be faster. Then back to my car, it hasn't seen over 30psi yet. We all know a 42R starts to wake up around 35psi. It sucks because the 1000's are maxed out and yes 1600's will be going in. At that point the boost will go up and the power will as well. We do plan on bringing the car down to use Lucas' dyno when its close just to dial in the tune and see a DynoJet number. But keep in mind, a number is just that, a number. There are a lot of things that go into making a car go fast. Sure, the car has all those parts and for sure can and will go fast. It's just time and money that unfortunately are both lacking at the moment. Lastly, its not some shop rivalry thing, I could give a shit about that. If anyone ever gets such a big dick and thinks there too good to ask for help they are... well you know. So ya, that's how I feel about that.

As far as Paul's car goes, if Lucas were to call all the shots from the get go, it would be running what it should have been. That wasnt the case, but it will soon be headed in the right direction.

There was alot of factors not 1 being power level or experience on Lucas's part why the evo was not where it was supposed to be at. Pauls evo is not a good comparison since there is alot of things people do not know about that particular project. Questions and or help from others is the way we all eventually get ahead.

The only reason I suggested taking it to Lucas is, because we all want to see the car do what we know the build is able to put down. I am willing to put money down that right now, if you were to let Lucas help with the car it would put down more power. Even with the 1000cc injectors you have. Like stated above, we all learn from each other. But if you think you and Reid can make the power the car should, then by all means please show us.

I want to see that turbo kit put to the test. It has so much potential, especially if it was upgraded to a B&W turbo. The ability to hold more PSI through the setup until redline and faster would be beastly. If I could justify the cost I'd be all over it. I'd have to sell a bunch of stuff just to cover it. Intercooler and a few other things.

How did the water/air intercooler work for you? As i understand it yours was the 6X8 650hp model, how did it fair at your power levels or im guessing with the 10s slips you possibly hadn't surpassed the 650hp rating just yet? Is the only difference the size of the water jacket or is the ID of the pipe larger as well?

The air to water worked very well. I never noticed any issue with it at all and it kept the intake temp's very low. I believe the difference is the length of the barrel itself.

Yeah I'm sure adding ice water or simply insulating the water box would do the trick. This will be a great setup for who ever grabs it up.
