Sorry about "that" but the new build up sounds awesome. Similar ot what I'm doing. I'd look into a kiggly girdle as well, I am definitely a true believer in the benefits associated with stiffening those caps. Later years have girdles so why not ours.''Also a question about the FP5rs and the FP 11s. I remember talking to Kevin (Kiggly) a while back about these and then Jake but they really couldn't give me much insight into how they perform on the street seeing as Kevins car is 100% drag an dJake didn't drive his too often.

My car will see a lot of street time so I figure the safest bet is a set of 280s but nothing is set in stone. all research points to those as being the turning point of streetability and true loss of lowend power.

Im a true believer in the FP5r/FP11's. I didn't notice much loss in low end power or torque. Even through the mid range they were equivalent to the BC280's that were in the car. But up top is really where the cams shine. If you look back at the dyno sheets you will see torque is holding much better then a DSM usually does (more like a Honda). In turn making more power in the upper RPM range. I think that the cams are still very streetable. However, I would use them more as a track cam, and run on them on the street every now and then.

When's the next time you plan on hitting the track to push it again I know you said before you were gonna work your way into it which made a lit of sense with how fast the car will be once all the kinks are worked out(if they aren't all ready). Always good to see "REAL TUNERS" doing big things. Keep us in the loop man

Ok, so a little update. I got the new motor in the car today along with the intake manifold and turbo set up. Got the car wired and really theres not too much left to do. Should fire tomorrow. We will be tuning it in the next few days or so and hopefully it will be good to go for the rest of the season.

OK, well after this huge ordeal we had going on over the last few days we got everything all put back together and were ready to run. I cant say enough about our welder, the dude is amazing. With the motor still together this dude is hanging upside down in my car with the welder doing work!!! Out of control!!! I wish we took some pisc of that. Put it back on the dyno today to break in the new motor and all is well. We have a local race here in Washington tomorrow that we will be attending. The car is still on low boost (28psi) but did great on the dyno. Made 550ish whp and was more of a test then anything else. Ill try and get some pics of the new set up posted by the end of the weekend if not then Monday for sure. We will be getting some vids of the race tomorrow as well. It should be lots of fun.

Ya, to get the "clear" knob you need to get it right from CNC.

Someone should change the name of this thread. I think you've been working on this for more than 15 days.

It was coolant and water mixed. The person who I had do the work on the head went too far with the port and sent it out the door like that. Way not cool on his part.

Wow. I really admire your persistence with this car. I have had my fair share of setbacks with my dsm- and it is good to see someone stick with it. Good job, and best of luck with your goals.

I know how that is. My thread over on 'talk was titled my rebuild for '07, and I'm still messing around and changing the car to this day.

Heres a quick clip from this last weekend in Royal City. Hopefully there will be more videos to follow. This was a solo pass that I made right when I got there to see how the car felt. I just rolled into the throttle in first. It was at 27-28psi. Still WAY low boost but thats about all the 1000cc injectors will take. 1600cc's are next along with some more boost. I will be taking it to the track in the mean time to see how she does.

No times as of yet, but I will be heading to the track tomorrow night. Hopefully I can get the 10 second monkey off my back and have a giant 9 second ape hanging out instead.
