I'm curious about your tensioner that failed. Was it the hydraulic tensioner or the roller tensioner. Did the bolt break?

I'm finishing up my build and it's got me just a tad concerned I know how much money and time go into these things and to have a failure is very frustrating to say the least. I just want to have all my bases covered.

Its a Jet, 1976 Eliminator Bubble Deck with the original paint too. The motor was getting tired and was only goin 73mpg on GPS and I wanted to go faster. I ride in my dads twin turbo jet boat a bunch and love the speed of that but this is a little smaller so 85'ish will do just fine. The motor is plenty big (Chevy 454) but I got a new Eagle Rotating Assy and a Edelbrock Power Pack so she should make 615hp N/A. Well thats what they say at least.

With an update with the Talon, we got the old Polk head back today and were putting it on tomorrow. The head is WAY different then the SBR head, the ports are bigger, intake and exhaust in the Polk head and the machine work looks sooooo much better. Hopefully this will fix the problem of the car dropping torque like crazy. Its one of the biggest things that changed as of last year. Kinda. So we will see.

Nice work thus far, sorry about the belt.

I read the whole thread and I have to give you some nice props. I love these one off fab jobs. I hope your head works out and your belts don't skip.

Cheers.

Is it possible for you to get a picture of the bad tensioner? I'm Curious to see where it failed, i seem to have a hydro tensioner that gets soft on me from time to time, and mines brand new!
From what you have said, i'm Not sure where yours failed, internally or broke into peices?

Thanks!

you will probably have to cancel man, seems we have a 60 percent chance of rain throughout the weekend.
if you want to really check the weather here, dont look at boise's weather, look at emmett idaho's weather. it is closer to that town than boise.
but, pretty much all of idaho is going to get wet on the weekend. damn weather gods!

That sucks... Thankfully PIR is open all of this month so we should be able to run there at least once.

lol take it easy boooo drtive it like you stole it Good luck man def hope you get the times your looking for. I"m very interested to see how the water to air does with the bigger setup. See I have been thinking about going with the same style from frozenboost.com but they that the barrel style IC is only rated to like 700-900cfm which tech shouldn't be enough to support your hp or times but it obviously is.

No worries, Ill for sure rail the piss out of her. Im just talking about the first one or two passes Ill take it easy. I think I posted how the Air-Water did on the dyno, it dropped IAT's to 52 degrees at idle and cruise and only came up to about 70 at the end of a 4th gear pull. The temp inside the shop was near 75 degrees. After the passes Ill post how it did as well.

I know that the water to air is the truth at cooling but as for flow I see that the barrel style is suposedly only rated to like 700-900cfm flow but your build gives me the piece of mind to just go for it and make a setup similar to the original you had with the gt35r.

PWR makes an intercooler that is rated at 1530cfm, but I dont think you want to spend $1529.99 on it...

There will be numbers soon. Some low boost numbers were 383whp on a dyno dynamics running off of wastegate.
