Great project log you have. I even referred back to it for when I was building mine.

Thanks guys, the car has gone a long way. I've recently run into a big bump in the road with my snow performance meth kit, so I haven't been able to do much. I'll be reporting back with an install walkthrough for the meth kit and some other goodies I've done along the way. Sooner or later I'm going to convert this to a tech article.
Not to sure if I posted up, but I ran the car a couple of weeks ago at Island Dragway. This was with zero traction through first, crap tune, and no NLTS.
12.1@117
12.1@117
12.2@116
So I'd say she's being pretty consistent

And you'll be running 11's with that meth kit. Get your ass to the track in a few weeks and we'll see who can hit 11.5 first!
PS - I'm gonna get that clutch switch! NLTS!

Tom, happened to come across this post in my bookmarks today. This will come in real handy when I start putting together the new motor. Expect tons of calls from me this winter!

yup, just give me a call man
I keep forgetting about this thread, I really should get around to converting it to a tech article one of these days. I've been good bill, you? How's those crazy BW turbos you've been messing around with? I'm still jealous of your job! When are you coming up so I can give you a ride?
I went to island dragway last friday and had some horrible luck with NLTS. It was KICKING MY ASS. After I realized my error (bigT helped me out with a new set of spark plugs too), I quickly gained back some momentum.
13.09@110
14.00@96
14.05@106
*turned OFF NLTS*
12.76@116
12.96@114
12.18@116
12.03@118
This was all done at the same boost level of ~23.5psi and an awesome 20* of peak timing on 93/meth Sadly, 11's still elude me. I hope to go to the track again sometime in July to try and finally get there. I'm really optimistic, considering that I want to go back at around 28psi and hopefully the same amount of timing.
here she is at island with turbotaloon next to her:
no secret to success here, my 12.03 log is attached:

Tom, don't worry about the plugs. I'm always here to help. We are both so close to 11's its not even funny. Let me know next time you want to go out. Hopefully we both get some more bugs worked out and finally make some decent passes.

Tom, why don't you lean it out to about 11.0:1 to make a little more power? Right now it is like factory air/fuel numbers. If you do that and it doesn't knock you should be in the 11's.

Thanks T, I definitely want to go very soon. I need to work out my boost issue (wasn't holding above 24 that night) and tune her a little better. We'll get there man!

I've tried and the car does not like leaner than ~10.7ish, so I tuned it to be a bit richer. With further research over on the link forums, posts have indicated that gasoline afr's are quite different than gas/meth afr's. I'm not sure if you're familiar, but it surprised me. Supposedly 11:1 on the gasoline afr is a lot leaner if you're really injecting methanol. That would explain a lot if I was knocking at 11:1 like I was before and zero timing was added. Another tip I have yet to try is to convert my UEGO to lambda value, since that is the true value we should be tuning to. opinions?

I don't quite know yet. I suspect the purple/orange NLTS wire may have been wired into the wrong cruise wire, but it works fine 90% of the time. My problem is that I rest my foot on my clutch when I race (preempt to shifting, I suppose) and I mistakenly activate it all the time. I can't help it, so I just turned NLTS off.

I do the exact same thing, I wish the trigger on the clutch pedal worked by the clutch hitting the floor, not just anytime it moves from "free rest" for lack of a better word. Sometimes i'll use NLTS and then i don't take my foot off the pedal all the way and it just kills my run, that's why i haven't used it on the strip yet, only when practicing shifts with it ( i keep trying to get fast enough to let off just right, but 1 out of every 3 times it messes me up more than it helps)

There are 2 switches on the clutch pedal. One on the bottom would require a relay, but you will have a hard time trying to launch because as soon as you come off of the floor, the launch control deactivates and your rpms shoot to the limiter. Makes for some smokey burn outs but not so nice for launching. The best way is to wire in a separate momentary swith in the line that you just hold down when you want to use it. If you got creative enough, you could probably run one on the shifter for when it is in first gear only. Obviously this is for launch control, but you could try something like that for NLTS too. Or try to use the bottom switch (if you have separate inputs for launch control and NLTS)
