Thanks, I try to take really good care of my car. I cleaned up the engine bay as best I could, maybe once I get it running we could meet up.

Hey man, thanks for the heads up and the compliment. This may be a dumb question, but what exactly is a fan shroud?

More pictures are coming soon, I just order $1200 worth of parts, as soon as they come pictures will be posted.

The fan shroud is the plastic or sheet metal part that sorrounds (spelling?) the fan. It is a very important component of the fan assembly becasue it forces the air to go in the "direction" that you want it to. Like for the radiator in a pull through setup, the shroud makes the fan "suck" air through the radiator and not just from the back of/around the radiator if the fan was jsut there spinning. Hope that made sense. Its also good for safety so you dont cut off your finger...

Bill

P.S. Oh, awesome job on the car keep the pics coming.

Very clean. Love to see more cars like this on DSMTuners. Makes the site look good as opposed to 50 million "what went wrong" threads. Keep up the good work. I am doing the same thing but I just keep piling parts in the corner of my room lol. Until I'm realy.

Thanks for the compliment. I'm still not too sure as to what the shroud is, If its the black part surrounding the A/C fan then I understand. If not please explain. BTW, the A/C has been removed along with the cruise control, so the driver side fan is gone.

95blackGsTurbo and blcknspo0ln, thanks for the compliments! I appreciate them, I put lots of money and hard work into this. Like stated earlier, more pics will come soon. The motor is sitting at the bottom of my bed all wrapped up, I don't want to open it just for pictures. There will be tons of pictures documenting the build.

Yeah I think it is "the black part surrounding the A/C fan," if i know what your talking about. Here is a link with the best picture I could find using a quick search on google:

http://images.google.com/imgres?imgu...oft:*%26sa%3DN

I'm really sorry for the long link, . Yeah I also removed the driver side fan when I deleted my A/C on my 1ga. If your car starts to overheat then you can by another fan and wire it up to the passenger side fan wiring. I'm sure you have seen that around on these boards.

Thanks, Well I plan on upgrading the cams later and also the turbo and exhaust setup, I'm just short on money at the moment. After awhile I will get bored with the 16g and have room to upgrade and have more fun with the motor, thats what I hope anyways.

Thanks for all the comments and compliments guys!

Update

I started building the motor today, pictures will come as soon as I have time to upload them.

I ran into a few problems. I tried drilling the oil pickup bolt hole out to keep the support bar but after an hour of messing with it I became so annoyed I just cut it off. After assembling the front case and putting it on, I attempted to put the crank sprocket and JAM spacer on. They didn't fit, So I called JAM. They were absolutely no help, I sanded down the crank shaft until they fit. I'm not sure why they didn't fit, JAM had no idea why either. All they could say was "we never had that problem before". Two hours later the spacer finally slid on, but I had to hammer the crank sprocket on. The crank sprocket is never coming back off, thats all I can say about that. It was a huge pain

The head is on along with all the valve train.

Next I have to get the intake and turbo setup on, but first I have to get some parts sandblasted, Ill keep my progress posted.

The cams are used, they are stock. The head is slightly ported by JAM.

OK so I need some help. I have a brand new 6 bolt thermostat housing, I just took the 2g sensors out of my old thermostat housing last night. There is only 2 sensors on the 7 bolt housing so I swapped them into the 6 bolt housing. Now there is 3 more open spots on the 6 bolt housing below the thermostat and 1 opening above the thermostat. I'm wondering what is the best spot to put my aftermarket temp sender? I have seen other people install it below the thermostat and others above. I have a choice of either so I was wondering which would be the better spot? I can take pictures if needed.

Thanks, I'm using the Cometic HP head gasket and no I did not spray anything on it. From the research I did, If your block and head were both machined then there is no need for spray. I guess I'll find out.
