WOW. What a pull!! in the lower rpm range. I'd like to see a good tune on it not just a base tune!
We're working on it. The only tuning done in that vid was the removal of fuel in the backhalf of the RPM range. It would otherwise shudder a couple times above 6K.

Paul, are you using NLTS feauture ??? Cause it doesn't seem to drop a lot of RPM, even from 1 GEAR/where drops most/.
And BTW, you mentioned before, that Hallman would have to make you boost controller. I don't know why, but you can buy any Halllman MBC and the fittings are 1/8 STRAIGHT. The 1/8 NPT fits perfect in place and seals better. LMK, if a I misunderstood your intentions...
Looks good, those kelfords must be working out for you. Seemed they couldve pulled even harder and farther, especially once tuned!
Nice video of your speedo at your local 1/8th mile race track, you dont have to tell us what time it ran

Yeah, NLTS set at 6K.
Although, stupid me - I mounted the camera directly infront of the back half of the tach, and didn't realize until that recording. I had to try to listen to shift, and as a result I also was shifting much slower than usual. Naturally, I'm going to move the mount.

I spoke with Mark about doing it last year. I was going to send him the appropiate AN fittings, and he was going to drill the small hole, and put one in the lathe to machine a seat for the ball to sit. Aside from the price of the fittings (less than $3), it wouldn't cost any more money.
But, I'm broke right now, and I also need to set some money aside for the Shootout and a trip to the dyno.

Yeah, they seem to be awesome so far. Hopefully I can experiment with 9K shifts for test data sometime soon. Don't know if I have the balls yet though. Airflow climbs quickly and peaks with whatever RPM I take it to, so I'd like to see beyond 8100 RPMs.

Just get a ceramic ball and heavier spring. I happen to have an extra -4 to 1/8 NPT alum. fitting and also I have the old METAL ball. I just ran down and measured it for you. The ball/which is the same size, as the ceramic one/, fits PERFECT against the 1/8 NPT side of the fitting. I drilled a new smaller hole in the middle of fittind/ on the nut/ and it works perfect. It could be about 0.055-0.058... the hole doesn't really matter, it has to be there to bleed off boost, but as long as you run higher boost/at least 6-7 PSI, or more above the WG springs rating you should be fine. Smaller hole makes you turn the KNOB a few turns more. So if you cranked the MBC enough, WG should open rapidly, compared to little slower response, if have only 2-3-4 PSI over spring rate.
Until i turned up the volume it swept through the RPM range so easily i could have sworn you were in neutral. Looks to be a very broad and flat curve which IMO is the best way to have it.... especially for the street, after all what good is a 2000RPM wide power range on the street where you're using more of the lower end of the rev range 85% of the time...whatever i'm trying to say it equals ME LIKEY CAR!!!!!!!
Very nice work and i can't wait to see the progression becuase i know for a fact you're not just going to leave it alone
Paul, I've got goosebumps listening to your car . It's gone a hell of a long way from back in the hay-day and I hope the younger members know that! Congrats on the new beast setup!
I may be Captain obvious here but as strong as the car is now (doubters) once its tuned it may be hard to control, it already makes a $hit ton of torque
Damn, 0-60 looked to be about 4 or 5 seconds! And to 100 about 10 or 11...thats crazy. Please bring this car out to the Dawg Dog car meet in Grandville....the local gathering on Friday and Saturday nights....
Nothing much. The car is running strong. We're still doing some tuning here and there. I did just recently order a MBC from hallman, so I'll have the boost cranked up to 36-40 psi hopefully by next weekend.
I plan to drive the car to the Shootout in a few weeks. I also plan on dynoing it a few weeks after the Shootout, so I'll have video of that to share as well.

i think because of this new found turbo set up ( for dsm's) he should be on the web site home page insted of the one lap of america vr4.
I agree, the one lap car has been up there forever.. Time to throw up somethign new! Plus i think Paul deserves a little spotlighting for all his efforts to get this done and working. Despite the troubles and tight fit the man stuck with until it was done and that alone is enough to deserve the front page if you ask me.

+1 on the vote to add this to the featured car. This is a rediculous amount of time planning, researching, fabricating and now tuning the twin turbo setup. This is the groundbreaking stuff that most people on this site dream of doing, but never have the capabilities to make it happen.

Paul's unique DSM and dedication deserve to be featured on the front page. ^^^ +1
Your car is inspiring and deserves magazine coverage, fotm, tech articles, whole nine yards.
I am probably going to the shootout and I hope to see the beast in action.
See Paul I told you a while ago lose the flames out the muffler get a better wing and people will start hopping on the bandwagon lol j/k. I def agree this is def a car worthy of praise even without huge HP numbers it's ahead of the curve and innovative.
